About Campaigns

The Campaigns page, campaign statuses, and how to set up and turn on a campaign.

Written by Anna Ralon

A campaign contacts a group of prospects with a sequence of emails and LinkedIn actions, sent from a teammate's connected accounts.

The Campaigns page

Admins see every campaign of the workspace; users see the campaigns they created.

The Campaigns page with its list of campaigns

Above the table, from left to right:

  • Action queue: the number of emails and LinkedIn actions scheduled to go out. Click it to see what went out today against each account's daily limit, and what is scheduled. More about it here.

  • New campaign: creates a draft campaign and opens its Audience tab.

The columns, from left to right:

  • Campaign: the campaign's name. Click a row to open the campaign.

  • Active: the switch that turns the campaign on and off.

  • Channels: email, LinkedIn, or both.

  • Sender: the teammate the campaign sends as.

  • Prospects contacted: how many prospects have received at least one email (bounces excluded), out of the prospects in the campaign.

  • Status: where the campaign stands (see the statuses below).

  • Latest activity: when the campaign last sent an email or performed a LinkedIn action.

  • Created by: the teammate who created it.

Click the Campaign, Active, Sender, Latest activity or Created by column title to sort the list by it.

Statuses

  • Draft: the campaign has never been turned on and its setup is not finished.

  • Ready: the campaign can be turned on. Either it has never been turned on and its setup is complete, or it was turned off after running and nothing is waiting for you.

  • Queued: the campaign is on, but outside its sending days and hours. It sends again when its next sending window opens.

  • Running: the campaign is on and inside its sending window.

  • Action required: something needs you before the campaign can keep sending. The red number counts what is waiting.

Hover Action required to see why, and click it to go where you fix it.

Manage campaigns

The three dots at the end of a row let you edit, duplicate or delete the campaign. A copy keeps the sequence and settings, without the prospects. Delete applies right away, without asking you to confirm; the prospects stay in your workspace.

Set up a campaign

A campaign opens on a row of numbered tabs.

The numbered tabs of a draft campaign

Follow them in order:

  1. Audience: the prospects the campaign contacts. More about it here.

  2. Sequence: the channels and the steps (emails, LinkedIn actions and the delays between them). More about it here.

  3. Messages: the messages written for each prospect, to read and approve before they go out. This tab is hidden when Autopilot is on. More about it here.

  4. Launch: the checklist before you turn the campaign on.

Once the campaign has been turned on, Reporting takes the place of Launch and shows its results. More about it here.

Settings at the top right holds the campaign's name, sender, pitch, writing style, sending schedule and Autopilot. More about them here.

Turn on the campaign

The Launch tab checks what must be ready: name, audience, sequence, sending accounts, pitch (when an AI step needs it) and messages. A row that still needs something has a button that takes you where you complete it.

When every row is ready, click Turn on campaign and confirm.

What happens next

  • The campaign starts its prospects on the first step of the sequence.

  • Messages go out gradually, only on the campaign's sending days and hours and within each account's daily limits, to protect your deliverability. More about these limits here.

  • By default, the first message to each new prospect waits for your review in the Messages tab, and the campaign shows Action required until you review it. The follow-ups then go out on their own.

  • When a prospect replies, the reply lands in the sender's Inbox and the prospect leaves the sequence.

Pause and turn back on

Use the switch at the top right of the campaign, or in the Active column of the Campaigns page. While a campaign is paused, nothing is sent. When you turn it back on, prospects carry on from where they were.
