Multi-Sender Campaigns

Send a campaign's messages from several teammates' accounts.

Written by Anna Ralon

With multi-sender, a campaign's messages can be sent from several teammates' email and LinkedIn accounts.

This keeps your campaigns simple: if two account executives cover the French market, for example, create one campaign for that market and add them both as senders. Each sender also brings their own accounts, so the campaign can send more messages each day and reach more prospects.

Add or remove senders

Admins can add or remove any teammate. If you're not an admin, you can turn yourself on or off in a campaign you created, and turn yourself off in a campaign you send. A campaign always needs at least one sender.

  1. Click Settings at the top right of the campaign.

  2. Open the Senders tab.

  3. Switch a teammate on to add them as a sender, or off to remove them.

  4. Click Save.

  • A teammate can only be added once they've connected the sending accounts the campaign needs: an email account for email steps, a LinkedIn account for LinkedIn steps. If their switch is greyed out, hover it to see why.

  • Needs to reconnect means the teammate has no working account left for a channel the campaign uses. They get no new prospects until they reconnect it.

How prospects are shared between senders

  • Each prospect is handled by one sender: all their emails and LinkedIn steps come from that teammate's accounts.

  • Prospects are shared between the senders' accounts based on each account's daily limit and how busy it already is, so a teammate with more accounts or higher limits gets more prospects.

  • All of a prospect's emails go out from the same email account, so the conversation stays in one thread.

When senders or accounts change

Prospects who haven't been contacted yet are shared again between the senders' sending accounts whenever this changes: when you add or remove a sender, or when a sending account is connected, needs to be reconnected or is deleted.

  • Prospects already contacted stay with their sender, even when you turn that sender off. If that sender's sending account needs to be reconnected, their next steps on that channel wait until it is. If it's deleted, those steps stop.

  • A message that moves to another sender goes out with that sender's name, and for an email, their signature. If it was approved, it goes back to review. On Autopilot, it's approved again automatically.

  • If you had edited some of the messages that switched to a new sender, Overloop asks you to review them after you save, since your text may still name the previous sender.

A campaign is paused when none of its senders has the required sending accounts left.

Change who an email is sent from

In the Messages tab, each email shows the teammate and email account it goes out from, next to From. Click the email account to pick another one, as long as the prospect hasn't been emailed yet.

  • You can pick another of your own email accounts. Admins can also pick another sender's, if the prospect hasn't been contacted at all yet, by email or LinkedIn.

  • To change an approved email, click Undo first.

See how each sender performs

In the campaign's Reporting tab, a campaign that has or had more than one sender also shows Sender performance, under Step performance: one row per sender, with how many prospects they reached and how those prospects responded.

Being a sender of someone else's campaign

If you're not an admin and you're a sender of a campaign someone else created:

  • It appears on your Campaigns page. You can turn yourself off as a sender, but you can't change anything else or turn the campaign on or off. If you turn yourself off, the campaign no longer appears on your Campaigns page.

  • In the Messages tab, you see and approve only the messages that go out as you.
